Kona fire mountain - what year and headset type?

Can anyone tell me what year this is from (not exactly original setup!)

And is that a threaded steerer with an adaptor or an aheadset?

Thanks in advance!

Re:

91 or 92, I think. Certainly threaded headset / fork with a conversion in there.
Edit : I'd say '92

Re:

Threaded is essentially now obsolete (in terms of performance-orientated, new bikes), but I've never worried too much about any of my bikes which use it and regularly ride several.
As to value, not huge, I'd say. Did you particularly want a singlespeed?

Not particularly after a singlespeed, just something for the commute which is pretty much flat and either on road or along a canal path depending on which way I go. Always loved the old steel konas! This one's a bit small but shouldn't make much difference for what I'll be using it for.

Don't mind it being obsolete as long as it's not prone to problems that can't be fixed.

Haven't had a bike with that style headset for a lot of years so can't remember much about them!

Threaded headsets are simple and reliable, parts are available... Their great advantage is easier adjustment of bar height. They're (when counting the stem) somewhat heavier than an aheadset, and take big wrenches to adjust properly. That's their only drawbacks, I think.

Perfect for your purposes.

That's been on eBay for ages! It's a '91/92 but there's hardly any way of knowing as it has the black paint option.

Thanks for your help guys. Would be fun to have! Just got to persuade myself to part with the money! Hoping I can get a good deal seeing as it has been around for a while.
