Kona Explosif singlespeed, does this belong to anyone???

Cheers Anthony, good to get a positive confirmation it is what it is, i'm trying to gather as much info on Explosifs as i can in a short amount of time so i know exactly what i should be looking for to distinguish them from a stickered up lesser bike, its the little details mostly. I know what my limit is £££, so i'm crossing my fingers ;)

That definitely a Dedacciai tubing I have the same decal on a 07 Unit.

I don't see many completely faked-up Konas, but when I do I highlight them here. People are nervous of the eBay police, so if you see a bike with Explosif stickers that isn't an Explosif, the auction title will generally say 'Kona' and then you know they don't even dare claim it as an Explosif.

Explosifs (and all Kona xc hardtails) have had the same geometry since your 94 and 95 bikes. The frame weights were lowest from 1993 to 1997 (c4.2lbs for size 18 ), Tange Ultimate 93/4, Columbus Max 95/97. They made the frames stronger/stiffer from 1998/9 (Reynolds 853), then went to scandium 2000/1, True Temper OX 2002/4 and Dedacciai 2005/8. The quality was highest from 96-98, since when generic 4130 tubes were used more. e.g., the so-called True Temper frames had two True Temper tubes. They had disc tabs from 2003 and multi-purpose dropouts from 2004.

£335 - pretty good buy for someone I think! Single speeds REALLY aren't all that sought after - tho' ability to run gears should maybe have boosted it a bit.
