That's a 2007 Explosif, Dedacciai not Tange of course. I guess it's worth quite a bit. The frame would fetch c£250 I guess, the whole bike c£450-500?

last two deda explosif frames i was watching ended around 300 (2006 and a 200:cool: i only recently noticed they had made them out of deda steel for those few years, they seem pretty rare, but i guess they are only just coming up second hand. im watching, but i think anthony is right, probably go about 450-500, too high for me.
any idea how much the frames weigh? i was quoted 1600g for a 16" 2006 (deda sat tubes i think) which seems a bit low but you never know, ive seen several dedacciai based frames around 1750g

actually looking at that spec, maybe 400 or less is realistic?

Kona quoted c5lbs (2.25kg) for a size 18. The 2004-onwards frames had thick plain-gauge stays, which makes a big difference to weight, and the multi-purpose dropouts must also add a fair bit. The increase in weight in the modern Explosifs is almost all in the rear end, the front triangle isn't a lot heavier than the retro frames.

ouch big difference. glad i didnt take the guy's word for it.
well there are balance issues with light frames and heavy forks, i once had 2.5kg forks on a 1300g frame. wasnt nice to ride.

How much are these to buy new?
Would you lot be happy to buy it with your own money(if you were looking for one)?
I'm summing up all options as i want to buy myself one for xmas

The seller says "Tange" - why would he be wrong on such an obvious issue? I rather fancy it - but for a fixed so I'd have to replace rear hub.

My guess is just over 400 quid?

Kinda a little worrying isn't it that he doesn't quite know what he's got, i've emailed him again(1st time was because he didn't put what frame size it was  ) asking if the sticker on the seat tube says Dedacciai on it. That was over a day ago, still no reply. I'll be bidding to win, just gonna take a chance on the vague description he's given

I wouldn't worry too much, with the user name freedom4tooting he can't be all bad, and lots of people don't know much about their bike.

I think it's definitely a 2007 Explosif, as they had shaped tubing and a different green colour in 2006, also the decals are 2007 decals (not that I like that fussy look, the 2006 decals were better IMO, see examples below).

I'm not sure about the fork, it looks too long for the intended geometry, but it could just be a photographic effect. With an 80mm fork, it would be a good modern bike.

The frames were £499 in 2008. That was when the real Explosifs ended, as there was no 2009 Explosif and I don't think there's any news yet about the quality or price of the 2010 Explosif - from the bare details they've given so far, it sounds like a Lava Dome with Explosif decals. The eBay bike is a proper Explosif, made with a respectable heat-treated tubeset.
