Yes mate i think that humbrol should be close enough although looking at the pics the frame looks slightly darker but not by much tbh so it should turn out okay .
I really impressed with how the wheels look in the vid as you wouldn't imagine them coming up that well tbh so the parafin was a great idea so where did you get yours from or did you already have some stored away in the shed ? .

I'll certainly keep you up to date regards progress on my wheel cleaning so i think that's a cue for me to get a Kona thread up come Monday ;) ..

Re:

Paint looks to be a pretty good match so go with it I say!
Top job on reviving the cranks too, there was a lot of surface corro there.
And the wheels look great too. ALWAYS check the bearings. I do. It only takes one bad one to damage the hub body cup and there's no way back from that. Take out, degrease the lot then check your balls  for damage. And your hub body too. Along with axle cones. Repack with too much grease so it squirts out when you do the axle back up. Wipe off, and ride! Peace of mind.
I recently bought pair of wheels and stripped them. Found one pitted cone, so replaced that. Otherwise it would bugger up the balls then the hub. Job done.
Happy weekend tinkering!

Re:

There baby wipes are only for when you have tyres on, like on the bike. A quick wipe around with one loosens it all, grab another to clean up.

It's not a full well cleaning tool.

Thanks mate but unfortunately some one has misunderstood the idea of using them or was misinformed and in turn passes the idea on thinking it would help but no harm done ;) ..

Re:

Don't get me wrong they work when the tyres are off of course. I do, but they get caught on spokes and useless for cassettes ;-)

But for grey rim pad gunk etc, they are great as they don't damage tyres or act as solvent with stuck on rim tapes or certain nipples.
That and you can leave a pack in the care for a quick cleanup after a ride, yourself and the bike and they're cheap.

In find them beter than a damp cloth, but you'll not get the full wheel clean as in the above cleanup. Which looks great.

Re: Kona Explosif.... One foot in the grave !?

Fair point mate and tbh i can imagine the wipes shredding on the cassette although tbh i wouldn't fancy using them on that part of the wheel any way but if their good enough for a general clean up just after a mucky ride then worth buying but seen as we've always got some in due to having pretty young great grandchildren i'll never be short of a pack ;) ..

Wow, great work! Excited to see the finished product - almost unreal transformations so far!
