Kona Explosif Cantilever problem

So, is that possible I have a1990 that was cataloged to take canti's but is set up like an 89 with u-brake bosses? Or did I just get hosed? Is there a serial number look up for Kona's?

Back then production and distribution was low and slow enough where it's really a non issue. A U brake explosif is harder to find than a canti version. You've got the rarer of the two, not a lot of U brake explosifs around. And U brakes do work well properly setup. Downside is they aren't as easy to find & potentially more expensive.

Paint looks correct for a 1990, although a full frame shot would help. Judging from this guys vid, looks to be a match. Guessing it was just an extra frame they had laying around that they pushed it into the next model year for paint & sale. Assuming it was sold in Europe & came from Canada, perhaps they loaded the shipping containers 1st to get them to market on time & some U brake 1990's were in the mix.

It's interesting. The sticker on the seat tube says tange prestige, but that was an 89 steel, in 90 it was tange concept.
