Dear George,

It seems that I'm not the only one, I had several private mails from people who had a frame repainted by Jonrock. You couldn't have discribed it better as you did, places where you have the idea there is no clear coat. I did the frame in my parktool stand for 5 minutes and got it out and you could see the stripe from the parktool stand in the top tube, just if the paint was stilln't dry.

I had the frame at my painter Theo and he said that he was under the impression of the colours and the paint methode, but that was all. He start laughing when I told him what I had paid for this.

But thanks for your reply, I hope that other people can do something with this information.

Jack

This should be locked as Jon has many satisfied clients and any gripe needs to be taken up in private one to one not being slung out in the public domain.

Hmmm - so if somebody is satisfied with a service they can post as much as they want, but if somebody is critical the thread should be locked - a very interested understanding of freedom of speech and a neutral forum...

The more people are satisfied with the services the more important the voice of the unsatisfied ones should be...

I don't think it's locking legitamate complaints..if thats what they are

but you have to understand both issues have not even mentioned if you approached Jon about the problem.

In one case it appears the person did not and in the other it appears that person bought a frame they claimed had issues but bought it any way then went on the forum to complain about it and when fairness was pointed out they mentioned freedom of speach and world war 2!

hardly the point of view of a balanced individual.

I agree with Steve that it should be locked until the mods decide what they want to do with it

What a ridiculous comparison. This is a community where trust and respect are paramount, I said what I said as any member with a shred of common decency would take that type of extremely damaging comment into PM's to resolve.

I am massively offended by your repulsive remarks about a time in history I am very keen on and have a deep family history.

Okay - point about the historic remark taken.

Fact is that no matter how many satisfied customers there are the voices of the unsatisfied ones have to be heard as well - my intention was never to make a "bash Johnrock thread" out of this...

As I only bought the frame from Johns former customer there was no way for me to approach John directly about this...

Best wishes from Vienna

George

Genuine issues I don't think are a problem and certianly discussing them in a way that helps is probably best

but as I said earlier

Jack71 appears to be unhappy but makes no mention if they approached Jon with their concerns so it appears to be a half story in a very biased way.

As to your purchase Titan..if the job was that bad when you bought it I presumeably feel it would have been cheap enough and not bad enough for you to go forward with the sale.

So saying I bought a faulty (alledged) frame but I'd still like to complain even though I knew it was faulty..seems a bit odd

Hell imagine if we all did that in rb  ..the chap I bought it from wasn't happy with it so i got it cheaper knowing that...that's really bad

If you titan were unhappy with the sellers frame then you should not have bought it but you did..so was it that bad after all? and to be honest if there was any complaint to be had by you..it should be to the person you bought it off and not jon

If jack71 chose to pay another party to respray a jon frame rather than discuss with jon a correction then is that jons fault?

Both arguments seem unfair and one sided and as such I personally feel it's a bit odd

Keeping it factual helps though to be honest

I find it hard to believe that jonrock would do bad workmanship.
Lets see some pictures of these frames so poorly painted?

Otherwise you should pm him privately

As I didn´t see the frame before except pictures that´s a tad unfair - and I did NOT pay a lower price because there were problems with it nor did I know of any problems - I payed quite a high price - but that´s not really the issue here - maybe I just misunderstood the intention behind the "let´s lock the trade" post or somehow else ended up thinking words like "censorship"...

If I would buy a frame from John (or anybody else for that matter) and wouldn´t be happy with the paintjob I would contact the seller FIRST discussing all the possible options and trying to find a solution.

If that wouldn´t help I would post it in here to make others aware of the problems - I simply responded to Jack71s request trying to find others who were not satisfied as well - maybe wrongly so in the thread and not via PM...
