Dear All,

Sorry this is no tread against Jonrock, I only have asked people about there experience. There where people who where very satisfied, but there where also quiet some people, who experienced these same a me.

Why can't I ask this question?. Please understand that the issue with Jon is arranged through Ebay, so I can't say anything about that. But getting a refund on a purchase doesn't mean that quality of the paintjob has changed, so I have ask the question, to get an idea, if I was the only one... who had this issue.

Unfortunally I have expected this. Don't go into the direction from Jonrock as he is a main figure in the retrobike scene.

I only ask myself why do we have a forum, forum are there to ask questions, to share ideas, experiences..

So please don't react on my question. I had already enough reactions...

Keep an eye on Ebay, Frame will be for sale soon...

If I would buy a frame from John

I think that was my point...you didn't buy a frame from Jon so as such possibly you wouldn't know the story behind it in regards to jon and it's first owner so your beef should have been with the seller to you and not really worthy of a complaint against Jons Work.

Did your seller disclose the unhappy paint to you and if so did he say if he had approached Jon to recitfy a percieved issue? if he didn't then on that your comment against Jon would seem a tad unfair. Absolutely you had a right to comment..but your comment was not as it appears to be at fist glance

I'm not trying to ruffle feathers chap and I understand if you paid market price why you would be pissed ...but as I said..it appears your seller was the problem and not Jon as the deal was between you and the seller and not you and Jon

I would be interested if Jack 71 could comment ...when you recieved the frame did you cantact Jon and what followed?

edit...actually please forgive my input.

This was a for sale thread by a member that has been hijacked and deviated for another purpose so my input here is done and I apologise to Jon .

Sylus,

Why sorry to Jon? How it went (short version). Parcel arrived I unpacked it, was totally shocked, made 10 high resolution pictures mailed it to Jon. He replied (several mails) and had another idea about this, so I should start a dispute. No words used like ship it back I will see what I can fix. Tried to speak to him on the phone as I found his number on the box, but he didn't have time to speak to me. So he has a refund though the resolution center from Ebay, which I have taken up with Ebay and they advised that I should take the offer. The reason and that is the tricky part. The Frame was advertised as used, even if the frame was "newly painted" by Jon. So Ebay said, that a full refund was very hard to agree, so unfortunally I had to take the refund.

Now you know how it went, but I must say I'm already quiet fed up on this forum, because we may only write positive things about people who are close to the retrobike scene.

Kind regards,

Jack

Thank you for replying and because you replied I felt it polite to also.

I understand your not happy but I have to say on ebay and on here I've always seen Jons adverts as being very descriptive and always mentioning any imperfections/damage etc so my opinion would be based on that.

I've also seen shedloads of very happy Jon Rock customers

From what you have said after contacting Jon an offer of a refund was made and that as you mentioned is being taken up by you and it looks you have found another painter to complete the work to a standard your happy with. I hope that works out

I understand for you it was dissapointing and of course you have every right to an opinion and I don't think anyone has said you were not.

I apologised to Jon because this discussion should have been in another section and not in a members sale thread.

The forum does encourage open opinions but..all it asks is that it's done in the right way and in the right location.

Anyway...I'd love to see some pics of the finished work your new chap does and feel free to send them if you wish

Good luck and safe riding

Dear Retrobike users:

Please don't react on this topic anymore!!

I will start a new topic on the correct place on this Forum in the weekend, the topic will be Expiriences repainting your Klein Bike.

I very sorry that I have opened this topic on the incorrect place.

So please don't reply on this!!!

You are always welcome to sent a reply on the new topic or PM

Will lock this pending Jack71 setting up a thread elsewhere. The For Sale forum isn't really the place to discuss such issues.
