Arrived!
I must say the colour in the flesh is phenomenal and so vibrant.
Is that a Candy coat finish? it's awesome.. :D

I think its candy colours used to make it, the over all scheme is a Klein colour called Painted Desert. I think it was available as a colour around 94/95.

Very nice mate..

Well after the ok from Dave Wilkins that i can start bolting bits to the frame i can now start the build.
It'll be a slowish build as im still sourcing a few bits, but the impatient side of me is taking the lead and i'll start to put on whit i've got.

Firstly i have sat the frame on its wheels.

XTR M900 hubs with Campagnolo Stheno rims and Ritchey z Max megabits tyres.
Going front black colour theme for most of this. Hubs are silver as are the Ringle skewers.

So i've source da lovely pair of XTR M910 NOS shifters and some Onza Attack Mushroom grips, and mounted them on the handlebars, they look fab.
Love the combo and like that the end of the bars are now protected.

Another update.
I've also sourced a Flite Evolution 2 Carbon saddle and am sorely tempted to mount it, i think it would look great against the Painted Desert colour scheme.
I'm a little concerned about the comfort and sloppiness though, alone here have any experience?
Perhaps this should sit on my Adroit.

Disaster.

The Spindle in the Bottom bracket is set at 125 x 24 mm. According to the tech manual thats perfect for a Cook Bros CDR crankset. But the clearances are just not there. The non drive side leaves around 1mm between the back of the crank arm and the chain stay, the drive side clashes on the middle ring.
I'm told there are many variations in the Cook For cranks, it could be that the square taper hole has opened slightly or a number of tings. Either way it's not necessarily period correct so i'm looking at changing the spindle to fit XTR M900.

More of a classic build then but still lovely.
Will keep you posted.

Sorry to hear about the cranks mate. I am sure XTR is going to look great and do very nice job ;)
