Yes the anticipation of opening the box was unbearable, especially due to the fact that I had to get it delivered to my parents house while I was on hols in Menorca. That was a weird holiday I can tell you, half of me wanting to be on hols siting by the pool sipping sangria in 30° heat and the other thinking bugger this, I want to be back in blighty whatever the weather playing with my new toy. The missus gave me a 'you sad basterd' look when I said I can't wait to get home!
Here's another pic from last night of the paint job, really very good, no dry spots that I can find and no orange peel either

A few updates in the offing this weekend which were meant to be ready for the Peaks ride but when I unpacked the new saddle the printed warning message that was included meant that I couldn't get the saddle fitted in time because I'm not fully qualified....
Also decided on a set of re-issue Smokes to bring the rubber into more period correct items and give a bit more clearance around the seat stays.

Well, I couldn't wait to fit the new bits so I went over to Halfrauds to get the saddle fitted by a Cytech 'qualified' mechanic but I couldn't find one so I thought I'd risk it and have a go myself and after the small mistake of putting it on backwards I actually managed to carry out the work and I think it looks pretty good...not bad for a non qualified mechanic eh!?! I also managed to fit the tyres without any help either, today is a good day!
(sorry about the sarcasm but I laughed out loud when that warning label fell out of the packaging with the saddle)
