Klein Attitude 1993 Project

I have excitedly begun my Klein Attitude project. Over a year ago now I popped my Rascal (now sold) into the local bike shop to have a new headset fitted. The mechanic in there said I have one of these are you interested in buying it. I took a look and in fact it was an Attitude with the fork intact.

I was excited until I realised he had ground off the rear hanger to make a single speed and could not find the MC1 bar/stem combo. We did a deal as I thought I too would make a single speed out of it.

I kept looking at the frame in the garage and really wanted to solve the hanger issue and do a quality build. Finally I cracked it by finding a Norco hanger of the peg. I made a template from another Attitude and had a local engineering firm machine and fit the hanger in exactly the right place. The result I am sure will look stock once the whole thing is painted and it is super strong.

I now have the only MC1 Attitude with a replaceable hanger. I found an MC1 Bar from a fellow Retrobiker in wonderful 90mm which will make a very useable rider.

I have a full M900 groupset in stock and will fit some Joes Cantis as long as they look right for the build.

The colour scheme is going to be Graffiti.

Its going to take several months so watch this space.

Wow, nice work on that cable hanger - ingenious.

Look forward to the finished result, will be good to see another Graffiti zipping around.
