The Kirk will always be a marmite bike, but you can't deny it was a bold design for the time and the advertising was very clever. How many retro bikes have had a 4x4 driven over them on Tomorrow's World?
The Kirk Precision was a great piece of kit and mine still rides beautifully today, many are shocked it's 23yrs old and at all the events I attend everyone loves the crazy history that goes with it! I'll get more stares than any other bike and often get told by event staff that I had the best looking machine.
The Kirk Revolution on the other hand was a complete disaster and was rushed to market, but at the time I wanted a Kirk. The main slogan "Nothing Else Comes Close" was very true and with the gloss black finish on my trusty Kirk Revolution I had to stop every 5mins to talk about the bike. It was known locally in my town as the Batbike or Star Wars bike. Sure there were flaws and it was heavy, but who cares when you're 19 and extremely fit - I had a headturning bike.
Captaincosmic, you're entitled to your views, but we're all on here, because we love bikes - the good, the bad and the ugly! Have a look at the Gallery page on my website and you'll see some stunning Kirk Precision conversions.
