just re-discovered this thread, nice bike (and nice weight) looks like you will be below 17 Ibs soon.

How much did you pay for the exustar ti pedals if you don't mind me asking?

I bought from these people
https://www.soniccycles.co.uk/products. ... 100&cat=29

There are lighter pedals out there but cost £150 extra and the cleats aren't spd.

I think i'll stop now just tinker with small parts like ti brake bosses etc

:( I think this is the wrong pull front mech :? As i can't get it to move. Which vintage correct front mech do i need then :? Doesn't have to be Suntour but prefer

Nice build Tony!

You have a standard (bottom) pull front mech but need top pull.

Maybe paint the forks. Different tyres/tubes could get you under 17lbs.

 Oh dear i thought this was a top pull  tubes are as light as can go. I like the ride of these tyres. Thought about painting the forks black.

Thanks Kev will go hunting for a top pull. never stops

You thought about using a Speen Umlenker?? I use one on my (17.4lb :D) weenie bike. The speen adaptor lets me run a compact Campag Record carbon front mech by converting the mech from bottom to top pull - 'tis the bottom left photo and the adaptor is the skinny looking thing sat on top of the mech. It weighs 7g and costs about £15

I'll do a build thread for this bike at some point soon I guess....

Thanks will contact them to see if will work with my Suntour XC Pro :)

well not a 100% wally. As my Trimble use bottom pull but pull from the top. Thanks to anchoring the cable by the BB they work.
live an learn

Have cut down the seat post so now 1 oz off (17. 3oz)

Well achieved a goal and built/owned a ultra light mtb. So now separating the parts i want and sell the unwanted.
