kelloggs pro tour

Yep a 85 I think as it has the gold cranks with black rings but no pump peg as per the 86 brochure it also comes with the arrowhead rear mech all the gold bits and the original wheels

The '87 bike has twin bottle mounts and the pump peg

If you need decals, PM me, I know a man who can (from my NOS set!)

Re:

Pics as promised. I got it on ebay, sold as spares or repairs as "the wheels sound rough" when I got to it the rh bb cup was half way out and crooked which wasn't promising, the rear mech was some sachs effort but the seller gave me the golden arrow as well, the tyres are cracked the rear brake is an ornament and the wheels were very very tight so after a strip down the bb seemed to go back in ok after I went at the threads with a wire brush, I stripped the rear wheel and replaced the knackered bearings.
the freewheel sounds worryingly noisy but seems to be functional which is just as well as its helicomatic so we will see how it goes.
The front hub wanted a bit of grease as did the headset and the chain had daylight between the chainset teeth and rollers so I robbed the 6 speed chain from my fisher which is too short but will do for the time being. Plans? Probably a new rear wheel, new chain new brake pads and that's about it.

Re:

the first 2 digits of the serial number is 41 so it indicates january 84 but the 84 catalogue has the 83 all gold chainset, the 85 catalogue shows this spec.....

Nice

The frame was probably made before the complete bike was built, hence the frame number

Is that 'foam' on the handlebars? Haven't seen that in years!

Chainstay Reynolds 501 decal is missing, but otherwise it looks good!

(need a correct length gold chain though! :) )

Oh, and the gear shifters have been changed at some point!

Yes I have the original shifters as well but I quite like the sachs ones, the foam grips are new Oxford jobs fitted by the seller, quite comfy but will be going in favour of black leather he gave me the original saddle as well which needs recovering, a job saved for a rainy day.
Not too bothered about the decals as I don't want to spend a lot of money on it but a new gold chain will be going on it
