jobs to do:

find some of those extra long canti bolts for the bombers

assess the BB as Letmetalktomark reminded me it was stuck - a big vice and a grunt or two will help but as it aint broke, its staying for now.

work out how to route the cables for v-brakes as I dont have a canti mount for the front or rear...

Probably came as 7-speed, so 8-speed would have been a nice upgrade when it was a few years old. 9 is too modern IMO.

too c.c.c.c.cold to do anything in garage, but as it runs smooth, it'll be staying for now.

I now have almost an complete M-550/563 black LX groupset for it.

just need some black LX 110BCD arms (or something different) and I'm done.

Aha. Nice work. If it works leave it in. Black LX will look sweet. Looking forward to seeing it progressing when the sun comes out (Christmas day according to the forecasts! )
