We often have the ‘how often do you replace or top up your sealant’ discussion whilst ‘just riding along’. And never any sensible resolution. Well, I found out the hard way yesterday, when, having done the long uphill slog just outside Machynlleth, I punctured 100m into the downhill. A tyre block ripped, and pppppffffttttt that was that. No inner tube - ‘tubeless complacency’ - And no liquid sealant in the tyre after 6 months. It just wouldn’t hold air. That meant the Long Walk of Shame.
