Just me?

For the eleventh billionth time, im sure that this bike is worth the asking price, hell my first reaction was I thought it would be up for more. My reason for starting th thread was that what I always thought of a nice cozy little niche sport could now command such a high price, and that someone would spend more than I earn in a year on a bike that in all likelihood won't be used for what it was made.

Something is only worth what someone else will pay. In the case of an item such as this it's value is incredibly subjective.

It's association with a significant moment in the evolution of cycling, and the passing of time effectively mean it's become a piece of art. Albeit a piece of art that can be physcially appreciated (if desired) rather than just looked at.

I don't see the issue with the price, or that it changes anything about being into retro-bikes?

" nice! They must keep a stash of old replacement parts, if they ride them regularly. Think I sold a triple chainring old TA crankset to Otis...cool Cool"----------
Yeah, they need them! Otis told me recently that he has gone through 9 sets of TA cranks over the years on his Breezer! Here's a pic of Otis with his Breezer, which he recently restored. Note that he put a headbadge on and the name on the downtube-both of which didn't come on the bikes when new-The headbadges came out in '81 or' 82 for the Series 11 Breezers, as well as the name on the downtube. Last year when we had the 35th anniversary of Repack, Joe showed up with #6 and rode it down Repack.
