This is my point. The general area is just that, general. But the roadies tend to stay in the road section. I think they should come here more.

Maybe they do. Maybe they read and think 'what a bunch of morons'

I joined this forum because I got given an old road bike, then I caught the bug and bought another one, and have only used the road forum since
Finally I found this section for people that can have a normal conversation - REJOICE!!! I was beggining to loose my iq.
Just so you know I ride downhill, bmx and motocross aswell as being abit of a roadie now ;)

Stu

I posted up asking about frame size and which would be best for me.I was having a brain storm i think. They inundated me with offers of frames.
So at least we know they are friendly to some extent :?

To be honest and im not slagging them off though they do bring it upon themselves ;)

There is too many cases of road cyclists being knocked down and killed or maimed ,they share their road whereas we are alone in our pursuit
Then theres the state of the road to take into account :? these potholes do cause terrible injuries and damage to wheels/frame.

So you could say i have real sympathy for them

A Manly lot

I browsed the road section... But started to get an itch to build an old road bike up and so left before it was too late.

I won't go near the BMX section for the same reason.

i think we need to send in

for a video commentary

I won a road bike at the Cycle Show about four years back

Looked a damn fine bit of kit, but those rims/tyres looked awfully narrow and never did summon up the courage to try it on our potholed roads

Sold it and bought a rather fine Explosif, there ended my one and only road bike experience

I've recently got "into" road bikes....... It is a giggle :0)

I love proper off road stuff, foresty singletrack ect, but going round the edge of fields was boring me senseless so I thought id have a go via a cyclocrosser...... Now I'm full on!
Still not feeling the full lycra tho, which gets me disapproving stares from the roadie lot :0)

I hear ya. I'm out there on vintage steel bikes w. downtube shifters, old shorts, ratty old MTB T, hairy legs, and my best Il Pirata bandana and goatee impression goin on. The toothpaste tubes always give me looks of disaproval. I always respond with a middle finger of disaproval.
