If you go for a re-paint make sure you remove the Tange Infinity sticker first then mount it on some double sided tape as you'll struggle to find another. ;)

That is a rather nice frame as it is. Is that plain gloss black and what new colour scheme are you considering?

Good tip from Brocklanders there btw – which I'd saved my Tange sticker

Also, any chance of a close photo of the Tange Infinity decal and existing paint?

Thanks,
Groovy.

Sorry feller ,,I never saved any stickers just hit her with can nitro moss, 99% of original coating off make it easier for coaters to finish off with their blaster before new satin black coating!!need get new decals for bike,,,,looking at touch orange anodising have see !!!sorry didn't peel sticker off but hey ho ,,,

Re:

Oh dear.
Wish I'd saved mine but after over twenty years, the frame was looking quite battered with peeling lacquer and roughed-up decals, so was kind of keen to get the new powder coating done.
I know Gil M on RB had a few Tange decals a while back, but I'm looking into ways of recreating the original Tange decal my Clocky came with.

Re:

Less is more... Yeah, my frame came back from the powder coaters a lot lighter after the stripping/dipping/blasting/coating process. It weighed like a clunker before, now it chimes like a bell – sweet.

Re:

Hello, :)

Am new to retrobike, have a real liking for early to mid 90's retro mtbs. Preferences are oranges, marin, Kleins and Alpinestars! In the past I have owned an Orange Clockwork 1993 (in blue and grey with purple decals) with Suntour XC comp components, which I rode between the years 1995 -2012, unfortuntely it was ridden to death on many journeys to work, off-roading and many cycle tours until the frame sadly failed. However, I have always drooled over early orange bikes, particularly the Clockwork, so this thread I have especially enjoyed looking through, some really nice looking machines!

So this inspired me to get myself another Orange Clockwork frame and forks, which I purchased this Spring. The Colour is a Satin Black with Orange Decals, its a 1992 Clockwork, 19inchs. Over the last couple of mouths I have been slowly accumulating components for it, but the right period ones rarely come up! So far I have managed to get a Black Orange gel saddle, the type with a small orange logo on the side, which I think is period correct. I have also obtained a white orange stalk stem, 1 inch quill. And more recently got some orange hot rod bars is orange/yellow colour. I have decided to go for a USE seat post in black, the ones with the coloured logo green/yellow/red size 25, which also believed was used by orange at that time. As for wheels and groupset i have some xt stuff knocking around, late 90's stuff plus mavic wheels, but are now more inclined to build it up with the right period stuff such as DX etc.. anyways nice thread will try sending some pictures.

Calum
