as per earlier listings I have now put JMC bike on good auld ebay due to lack of responses on this site .. as one person put it: 'this bike is part of MTB history' If you would like any info please feel free to ask.
It's not really a piece of history, it's an old training bike that a racer may have used at some point. It is now been resprayed a different colour and has a bunch of different parts. It would really have to be in 'as used' condition with some decent provenance to get interest on the back of the JMC name
A historic bike is one that has been used in anger in a noteworthy race by a racer at their peak or one that is intrinsically linked to a racer - for JMC that would be the M2, the RTS or the Salsa.
This frame is worth a bit due to the fact that it could be a Kevin Winter frame, he's a cool builder.

I have a number of issues with this, but here is the one which concerns me the most...
Who resprayed it?
In your second post in the opening thread thread you say: "The colours are red/white, originally black/white but he had it sprayed in support of local football team i think." "It was well worn/ridden when i got it and still is" http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=622391
But in a later thread you say that YOU had it resprayed from black/white to red/white: "It was well battred and was originally black/white, I then had it respayed in same scheme, but red/white." http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=686193
You can't both have resprayed the frame from black/white to red/white and yet you have given reasons why each of you resprayed it. Please explain.
I actually stated that it was originally black and white - I then resprayed to red/white (not me, but original frame builder; Kev Winter) as it had been battered by JMC. I then used it quite a bit and re-battered it - hope that alleviates confusion
nothing dodgy by the way.. any questions, I have the answers.
I only put it up as people seemed genuinly interested, maybe I was wrong?
No mate, the first quote of yours in my post above clearly states that it was originally black/white and then Jase had it resprayed red/white in the colours of a football team. I don't know how it can be read any other way.
Let's move onto my next issue...
Kevin Winter?
In the opening thread you say: "yes, I believe Kevin Winter was the frame builder of the beast.."
And now in the eBay ad you categorically state: "The frame was made by Kevin Winter who built handmade frames for Hardistys"
It may well be a Winter but what research did you do to verify this between the two statements? Or did you just take the first likely frame builder mentioned by Dr S in the original thread?
Even just above you say: "I then resprayed to red/white (not me, but original frame builder; Kev Winter) as it had been battered by JMC.".
I find it odd that you couldn't confirm 100% that it was Winter. Dr S would have jogged your memory by mentioning his name... especially as you're now saying that as the frame builder he resprayed it for you.
I suppose anyone interested in this could always get in touch with Kevin Winters his details are on the framebuilders section at http://www.ceeway.com/custom_uk_bicycle ... ilders.htm obviously under Kevin Winters obviously lol, also someone might be able to confirm if its genuine or not from the JMC website.
interesting bike and post what ever the outcome though
Kevin Winter's business made the frames for Hardistys at the time; he also resprayed it. I worked in the shop for quite a while, that is why I know. Whether him or someone else sprayed it I dont really know or care to be honest.
If you are not intrested why are you being so silly. no one is asking you to buy it. why not go out and ride your bike instead of making unhelpful comments; feel free to make another immature response:
