IYO - what are THE best Cantis?

On a CX bike, then Froggleggs/4za/Spooky (depending whos making them at the time) or FRM carbon version are the way to go.

Whatever they are I've found forged best, even if its just that they seem more solid. What about some black M730's non low profile. I have these with ritchey pads and they are as good as anything IMO.

These are also good. Have them on my Alan for now (waiting for some old-school Weinmanns)

LX if you want black or XT for silver, m900 will offer no advantage over these and will infact be worse on the rear due to the shorter arms.

as already said, it's all in the setup!

It's got to be the older wide profile to get the leverage right (as LGF rightly says).

The tandem and touring crowd seem to like Tektro CR720s. Not bling, but seem to work better than Froglegs.
I realise that anything with Tektro on it will stick in the throats of some, but they do work.
Personally I also liked the Suntour Pedersen SE ones, but they can be a bit squealy.
