It was a dream, now it's a project… Merlin 92

so the 94 got replaced by a 92?
Yes ! ;)

It's the graal I was looking for. The 15" was a fabulous opportunity.
But this more small fram was something I was looking for… quite 18 years !
For me, a Merlin needs a 1" headtube, the grease card or specific BB… and for my little size, U brake bosses !

Campa U-brake is too big and the bosses are really specific ( no spring hole and shorter). So, shimano U-brake or... A suntour WTB patented roller-cam I'm going to receive ;)

I could make a comparison between 2 size of Merlin frame.
The 13'5 frame is made with smaller diameter tubing than the 15" (around 5mm for the diagonal tube). I think Merlin adapted the stiffness of titanium for each size

So…
I've to choose.
The shimano U brake XT II, and a suntour rollercam.

So, I prefered to test the suntour (until I find a WTB cunnigham rollercam)…

It works fine, and powerfull, with quite the same touch feeling than the front controltech cantilever brake. I put brake pads for ceramic rims, and the cam can be removed easily.
But what would be better with the shimano, is the shark teeth against chain suck…

Sorry, but no snow last week-end, around Lodève, around the Salagou lake.
An amazing ground for mtb in France, a mix between Moab in USA and Australia for color.

An old dream : riding around this lake with the red megabyte tires.
You will understand why with pictures…
