Based on what I'm seeing in these pics, I'm way out of my league (and quite possibly in way over my head). A respectful tip'o the hat from a relative retro-vigin to those that have already blazed their way.
I guess in reading and viewing the replies and the corresponding pics, I'm amazed, stymied, and a bit wary. The pics show extensive collections, passion, pride, and maybe a wee bit of embedded caution. I'm not sure if my bikes are an extension of who I am/my identity (yet?). Maybe its not a question of if any more (as suggested by the replies), but a matter of how much. The picss show some serious committment.
Looking closer, from the perspective of having taken the time and expended the resources to restore some, these bikes are almost works of art. Trophies even. Statements of apsiration, and several of inspiration. Attention to detail and lovingly cared for.
all I wanted was my own stash of spare parts to keep bikes 1 and 2 operable...
...and I watched enough of the You Tube content to understand why I might be "doomed".
I guess if I'm willing to have Gil reproduce some fork decals, its time to go with it, and embrace the dark side...
