is this a really a Zaskar Race ?

They also used kinesis max lite tube sets , as I just remembered , there was the comments about the kinesis max frames being a zaskar in disguise , if you remember those

There was a web page somewhare that discussed the 2000 zaskar race frame , might be the falling down one that mentions the uncertain origin of the race frame

TED , the paint vs burnishing thing is interesting , most frames these days are painted or more likely powdered as the bake process will normalise the frame after welding
6 series ( us built) bikes won't like this hence ball burnishing and anodising or wet paint
Most early Easton tubed frames crack , Manitous Marin's Alpinestars , as they're either polished or wet painted , and not powdered

Re:

Not Shure how relevant this is but I have a 2007 Zaskar Team made from Kinesis Superlite tubing and hydroformed to within an inch of it`s life. The end cap is flat not rounded, disk only and seriously lite. At this age it must be S.E. Asian built.

In the best Zaskar tradition it has been a single speed, a long forked hardtail, an off road tourer and is soon to be a slick tyred road /gravel bike.

If it`s not too young and of any interest I could weigh the frame and note the serial number with it`s location just to add to the sum of knowledge here.
