Is it just me, or is Deore DX cool?

I thought the Red DX stuff was 96-97-98 ish re-introduction as a DH inspired groupset more than BMX.

V's and pedals flat /SPD combo pedals dont strike me as too BMX-like.

Me too, and had(still have) a pair of matching shimano boots that were billed as DH. These were fantastic for winter commuting/riding and where later marketed as such.

Had full DX on a '93 Rocky Mountain Stratos... It never let me down.

Did'nt need much adjusting either :D The perfect lazyboy groupset ;)

I have a DX front and rear mechs and RF+ in mint great condition... £150 with a free 93 Marin Eldridge Grade :)

lol, well if you ever break it up, give me first dibs on the rear mech!

Always lusted after my mate's EG. Think it was grey with red decals and red fork, just looked the Biz.

XTR - for rich people and not worth the extra money (when new) and you better know what youa re doing or you will get laughed off the hill.

A bit of a sweeping statement

DX Memories

I remember the original 1980s DX BMX groupset: Nice anodized colours; the crank resembled a fluted Campagnolo Record; and the platform pedals (that now sell for a fortune).

I'd forgotten about the late 90s red DX groupset. That narrow cassette hub might be just the thing to get the proper chainline on my cruiser.

And now there's the new DXR stuff, which is mega-expensive.
