Is it acceptable to mix cable outer colours?

First time try at a poll.

I have some neon yellow Gore Ride-On brake cables which I REALLY want to use. They do feel lovely (fitted them on now-wife's bike) - and the neon yellow is of course, very neon. The packet says 1996 so a I'd have thought a bit past the neon fad. But, it's only the brake cables - the gear cables would be black.

Is it acceptable?!

I’ve seen this done on pros bikes. I did this on my boys custom Hotrocks with white rear derailleur housing and black brake housing. Looked good, but the first thing my wife said when she saw the bike built up, was “why is the gear housing was white?!”

But it needs to be done with style.

Only you can decide.
It's one of those things I'd do, decide it's fine, then look at the bike a couple of days later and be all 'No, looks shit, got to change it!'

That neon cables will fit my Scott pro black and neon yellow perfect. Some cables blac other neon, no problem if it match the bicycle.

Only if your bike is for example neon yellow - black. Then you can mix those colours.
