Ha ha, didn't realise it had been rejected by so many!
I came close to buying it off Gruff first time around but just couldn't live with the fact I had convinced myself it was too big (it still is) then I think that was when the Cinder Cone came along so that sort of decided it.
Parts are slowly amassing, then something better comes along so I change build plans again, but looks like it should be at least LX throughout come the end of it....

tbh that frame looks in better nick than mine - and I've had that since new. Admittedly dropping it on a wall while trying to Hans Rey may not have been a good plan... the stupidity of youth and all that!
Btw I noticed the comment on the gusset on the down tube - perfectly normal (see mine, and that's a 16" '96 as well).
Seem to bit a bit of a marmite bike on here, but personally I love mine - have since the first day I rode it. Really very stiff frame but climbs like a bugger and always feel solid. (In my opinion as well you have to cover it in purple bling )

I remember regular rides out with a mate who had one of these, while I was riding a scruffy zolatoned Marin back in the day. The Zaskar will look utterly fab when fully polished up. Just keep drinking the cider and you'll get there. Look forward to seeing the build up...

About a year at least. I tried around 4 times while it was 'just resting' in my garage.
