Does anybody else think that is getting harder to sell parts/bikes on ebay?people want things for f*** all, i know there's a recession but come on!!

Maybe I have expensive taste but it seems to me a lot of items I have interest in are increasingly selling for well above what they used to. Its debateable whether its a case of increased demand for used items over new, or simply the way eBay can sometimes hype the price up!

I have items on that have been on for 30 days and then i had to relist them again, about 6 months or so back i could put the same items on and they would be sold in around a day or two :(

I've noticed that .... but it works both ways. if you are buying then it is a good time.

It seems to be all seasonal

My other hobbies include hifi which almost doubles in price once the clocks go back. Then theres classic car head units - spring & summer

Bikes seem to be pretty steady at a strong spring rise to a summer peak. As our summer has been a bit hit and miss, the peak wasnt so good this year. Tie that in with the recession/ slump/ crash and it adds to the woes.

I still buy the odd item, but won't sell on there any more due to the fees.

I certainly find it more a buyers site. Have found loads of tasty stuff. And you don't always have to wait for the postman.

I know what you are saying. I have had a couple of failed to meet 99p sales and a non payer,

Hopefully now the Olympics if over and holidays end, things will pick up.

I put it down to the fact that Ebay increasingly takes around 16% for a lot of transactions, including paypal, which means the likelyhood of getting a bargain is less and less.

If you post something which you might get 7-10 quid for, by the time ebay takes £1.50 for a listing with a few pictures, 10% final value fee and 4% on Paypal...you aren't really left with alot.

It makes selling/buying random little bits which you are curious about and which have just turned up not really worth it.
