completely agree with this. Partner made me sell the trailer because I kept doing things like this and she wasn't convinced it was safe. once rode home with 4 road closed signs sat in the trailer that a road contractor was chucking away because they'd been clipped one time to many. was gutted I couldn't get them sideways so they faced the following traffic.
