Will be lovely once they finish installing the fork. They got to the step where you figure out how much you need to cut off..
I see your point, I've sadly regretted cutting all of my forks. So in all honesty if I had the choice I'd leave them uncut and use spacers accordingly if I wanted it lower, just to be able to have that adjustment in the future.

Sorry,
"Mighty English three speed all of them wrong"
The four speed hub is far more useable imo. Posty has 3. 1st too low, 2nd too high, 3rd while loaded is 🤣
That's fair. Perhaps if I lived in a more hilly country I'd feel this. For me I find that most of my 3 speed setups have been perfectly as here it's 90 percent flat. I guess I also never knew what the right gear was anyway, with my 1x11 I end up shifting all over the place and losing momentum repeatedly because I'm spoilt for choice 😄

I can see the adjustment argument to an extent, but it doesn't look great and I wouldn't like to run into the Nakasaki tower.
I'm only half serious. I don't recommend leaving it sticking out like David C's meatflute at the sight of a pighead but I have started to change the way I think about cutting steerers. I try to leave a bit extra for adjustment. And as I like a very upright position I've decided I'm going to start to using the steerer height to get that dialed in, where as in the past I'd usually cut fairly short for looks and use stem/bar combinations to get the position I wanted.

I sort of like the way it looks on that bike though 😜

I can't lie, I have regretted cutting steerers down, but it's more because the fork then won't fit in another frame with a longer head tube than anything position based. I'm not into super upright though.

That makes sense, that has been my problem too, it not fitting my other frames. Been an issue with my P2's. I still would love to find an uncut P2 sometime...

I do like a triple butted P2, lovely riding fork, they seem few and far between unthreaded though, let alone uncut. I wanted one for the Dawes but gave up looking, then the alloy fork turned up and I think suits better anyway.
