Recomendations for an entry level Mountain Bike. Cheap and cheerful thats not a dog to ride - the moon on a stick ??

Through the cycle to work scheme so has to be new , just to leave at my digs and a few trips trough the Dorset Mud. I know it wont be like my Retrobike at Home though.

Re:

Well done to the above for suggesting second hand when the op tells us why that's not an option

I'd be looking towards a halfords voodoo, boardman or the like. Get one in the sale and you could end up with something half decent.

Halfords have a cycle sale on right now!

Re:

Would you qualify for a for the cycle scheme for a new bike if that bike was nos?

Re:

Just imagine, a Retrobike ride to work scheme with £400. And you were the first to get your hands on the deal I'd have at least two more bikes
