Well put.

Not really that funny, pretty weak imho. Esp since that was one reason for his enforced break.

As soon as a adversary starts to attack the mouth piece on a personal basis, it shows they have lost the argument.

The name of the game seems to be defame a person and then their policies fall to pieces, create a ridicule situation and that sadly, is here on these forums too.

But just look at UK politics and the bickering that goes on there, so if those in government and those who oppose that government set such an example, how can the plebians take the moral upper hand and debate civily as civilised human beings not yard dogs barking at others for want of something to do.

If one does not wish to be aligned with the career politicians that seek to smear their opponents, quite simply don't act like them and prove to be yourself, a better person.

Spot on.

If they find someone so intolerable, why do they stalk them? Even if you don't like someone, how does following them through threads they have absolutely no genuine interest in just to spout abuse help?

Baffles me.

Apart from my uncanny resemblance to Eddie "The Eagle", I can assure you that the Guv is most certainly his own man.

But I think it is probably better for the site as a whole if we all try and be a bit nicer.

Turning the other cheek you mean?

Some years ago there was a foreign bloke iwith long hair and a beard who was all for such practices. Think it's his birthday soon.

It didn't end well for him unfortunately.

My birthday was back in September?

Styling your self as jesus is an improvement on a serial killer I suppose

I'm going have my 10p's worth on this. It does seem recently (the last 3/4months possibly) that there has been a free for all, bitching, shouting whatever you want to call it! Retrobike has been always been for me place where like minded individuals meet over a common interest. We all take the Mick and have some banter but I've not used the site for sometime now because I'm sick of seeing it go tomthe extreme. I don't like reading expleatives or augments that turn into a virtual fight. Again the reason I keep coming back here is because we all share a common interest. Let me paint you a picture, I'm a 6ft Yorkshireman who runs a bar/restaurant and deals with a large array of idiots daily. I've alot of patience/tolerance but when I spend my time looking/doing something I enjoy, I don't enjoy the rubbish that's been kicking about recently here. I think the mods (especially Sithlord and Pickle, sorry don't know others well) do a fantastic job, and John you have a belter of a site. It seems a shame it's spoilt sometimes. I talk from experience as I've served a ban from here for being abusive. In that experience I made myself look like a plonker rather expressing my point properly. Lesson learnt. Obviously I pop back now and again but it's a shame and I hope Retrobike doesn't become a victim of it's own success! 10pence had?!
