Re:

First ride was, well, i don't really know what to say. Looks well enough but kind of left me a bit cold. A bit skittish on loose downhills but other than that it all felt a little safe. Once the pads bedded in it improved but I'm struggling for something to say really. I wanted to love it from the off but maybe I have to learn to, unlike some of the others I have. Reminds me of the Roberts Phantom in that it's supposed to be a great bike but didn't fizz for me.

All felt a bit safe and predictable.

Re:

Given it some more thought. Got off this with less enthusiasm and a few more aches in shoulders, wrists and back. Could that be the braking, slightly lower front end or the frame? (or all three) Surely a stiffer frame couldn't affect the ride that much? It did feel very direct and in touch which everything you pass over. I dialed the forks up to 11 as i like less travel/rebound etc but a little forgiveness.

I will persevere before deciding on it's fate. Some have been one ride and out. I kind of like this but don't feel strongly either way as yet.

For the OCD, brakes up a bit, shifters now level.

Shorter stem with same rise gone on. Seat back a bit. If this doesn't work I may 69 it and see how long before the head tube cracks.

Risers.

Is the fork twangy?

Just remember its an old fashioned early 90's arse up head down bicycle, not a sit up and enjoy the countryside type frame.

Haven't ridded it yet in this configuration. Fork has been sitting in the shed not making any noise at all. Jew's harp stylie?

Re:

Damn it THM, now I'm going to have to change mine out to M900/910 as this looks nicer than my Middleburn / 737/9 Mix....

For what its worth the Zaskar is as harsh as any bike Ive ever ridden, if you can ride light then the downs are better, float over rather than plough through....

The power transfer on the climbs are incredible, I find myself taking minutes out of climbs...
