Identifying rear triangle material

Hey guys I'm building a budget commuter/tourer/expedition bike and I'm looking for an old 501/531 mountain bike frame to base it on. Is there any way to make sure bits like the rear triangle are also made from the Reynolds good stuff? I'm sure I read somewhere about particular Reynolds sticker that confirms this but is there any other way to make sure it's not hi-tensile?

Here's an example:

Is there any giveaway there that you can see?

Regards, Steve

I heard somewhere an old wives tale that high tensile will sound dull to being tapped but chromolloy will "Ping" pleasently. As far as I can tell it is complete nonsense, I've got a few Tange chrommolly framed bikes, some ping some don't. I suspect the sound a tube makes has more to do with diameter, length, wall thickness and even any piericings such as drain holes and bottle cage bolt holes.
I think most stays will just sound dull, just because the diameter is so small.

Without seeing the original product managers final spec sheet that the factory used to build the bike frame it's darn near impossible to know what the stays are on a frame. Many companies played the "seat tube" game. Spec'ing only a seat tube to get a name like Tange, Reynolds or True Temper on the frame and make it look better than the whole bike really was.

Someone on here will know more than I do, but I think that the badge probably need to stipulate that the Stays are Reynolds or whatever.

The two pictures here are poor quality, but the red frame definitely only has a 501 main triangle, with generic Stays.

Think I'm just going to have to start asking for pictures of the Reynolds stickers. This could take a long time :(

And what the hell is Raleigh ATT 27? A lot of 90's Raleighs seem to be made of it. I'm guessing ATT means All Terrain Tubing?

Try this for a decent explanation of most recent decals:
