IDENTIFY MY RALEIGH?

Just bought this today. not sure on its model? or age? anyone got any ideas? its got specialized rims and shimano components.

That's a Raleigh Montage. I had a Raleigh Mirage for my first bike! They're late 80's I think. Rims, obviously, aren't original and it looks like the cranks are uprated as well.

would've said montage (or maybe montare??) also. Year wise reckon 1990 or 1989.

Montage had Suntour stuff and was a very blue colour with flouro yellow graphics.

In 1989, 22 ~ 24 inch frames were obligatory - 'he'll grow into it sir'

Montare was the gary fisher number, montage was the raleigh name. Sat fairly high up in their ranks of M bikes: Mustang, Maverick, Magnum, Mirage, Montare wasn't it?

Looks to be the same size as my first proper mountain bike, a Magnum (I'm 5'7", but my parents had high hopes obviously...)

this all sounds good to me

as im pretty much a die hard raleigh fan. ive ridden it around the block and i think im pretty much the right hight? (6ft 1) think it should clean up realy well. theres no rust on the frame just loooooaaaddds of dust :?

What a great bike!, don't expect everyone to like it but loved dribbling over stuff like this in Hellfrauds when I was a wee nipper. Quality

Just out of interest, how much did you pay for this Montage?

I've got one with original spec sitting in the shed doing nothing. Would be good shift it to make some room but no idea what to ask for it.
