I made a cap for my thumbies!

The more difficult is a project the best result. That caps looks quite nice. 👌

In case someome is interested, I made a instructional video on how to do the dis and reassembly on those shifters.
I did it speaking german. But I tried to add english subtitles. Some feedback would be very welcome. Especially if the subtitles work. My youtube only shows the german subtitles...
And of course leave a coment, if the video was of any help to you.

It’s spot-on, subtitles work perfectly, excellent work my friend! Would great if you could have them laser etched the same way as the original too. 😎

Excellent video, thank you. And the subtitles work.

I have taken rapid fires apart but never a thumbshifter, never had to, but great to know what to expect if i ever need to.

And a good thing about the plain design is you have so many options if you did want to customize, etched like above or even Ano matched to the other components

Awesome video! Some very minor typos on the subtitles but super well explained and not worth amending. Great job on the top cap too!

This is great, amazing to see the amount of components and constituent parts that make changing gear possible.

I use beer caps for pedal covers, spent pistol casings for tire valve covers, spent shogun shell brass ends for bar tape plugs, red rubber heater hose for handle bar grips and rubber urnal screens for seat covers on worn out seats, but these are new and impregnated with bubble gum essence. This way I don’t have to always ride in the back of the peloton. These seats are banned from some rides, I’m told their too rude, especially the one that has magic marker graffiti on it saying “urine da U Pee (UP is slang for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, USA, which is where I ride). Non kidding.
