The story is probably like a lot of you started to look for something new/interesting to ride started thinking back when I first got in to riding in the mid 90’s and all the cool stuff that came out in the early days. A few google searches and I found this forum started reading and remembering, rehashing old stories with old friends then one day my home page was pointed to craigslist bikes section…. So I waited and came across this. Under the rattle can paint and what I’m guessing is the best work by a courier to disguise there bike is a diamond in the rough a (to the best of my knowledge) 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard, A hand made Tange ultimate frame with all the original Deore XT bits and original Race Face crank for 150$ The only things missing are the seatpost, stem and original handlebars replace with comfort stuff form Canadian Tire - now in the trash. I hope to get it all done by spring. Most likely by asking some stupid and obvious questions so a sorry or two in advance, First one any retro bikers on here in Toronto, Canada? I need a good sandblaster/painter. Second are any of the graphics online or anybody know where I can get new sticker or the art work to have some made.
To make thing worse I bought this Gary Fisher as well first for the parts and was hoping to get a Zaskar frame or similar but it has a good profile and looks kind of cool hanging above my desk at home
Sorry about the bad pics I just moved and cant find my proper camera so the cell phone got used. The rest will be better
Chris
p.s. for the Toronto Retrobikers i have found some good stuff in my search for my first project. NOS Paul's rear Derailleur in rasta, syncros goodies and more let me know if you want the stores.
