I decided to replicate my dream bike

Ok so I have wanted a Takhion Aero as long as I can remember. Since they are so rare and expensive I thought I would try to make one. Now before anyone complains this is only for me it wont be sold as that would not be right. This is simply an exercise to see if I can do it. If someone sees it for sale, call me out on it.
So I started with an old 531 frame no one wanted I got cheap. It's coming along well. I had to shorten the rear stays and now have to modify the fork so the brake can tuck in behind like the original. The only thing so far I have not done is the upper headset bearing mount
I'll let pictures show what I've done so far.

BBA464EC-19C2-46AF-8089-E94573BBE5AE.jpeg Looking good to date as those East German Bikes were cool

I’d like to replicate this man’s machine as he was a top TT man in Wales in the 80’s

That's quite a project you've undertaken. THanks for posting though as I've never heard of these and just googled the gen. So many questions.
How will you match paint colours, decals etc?

I was able to fix my fork issue in the past couple days. If you refer to the last picture in my first post you can see there is no way the brakes will touch the rim. I never thought that just by putting them behind the fork it would be such a problem. So I had to shorten the fork legs about a half inch to get the pads to line up. That caused another problem that the tire hit the crown, so I had to radius the crown to fit the tire. Now it all seems to fit, close but fits. The originals also fit very close. Now some filing and a coat of primer the make the bar mounts.

That Argos bike is in the takhion style. I like it.
Id replicate it but sadly the original Columbus Air tubing is extinct no one has a set..
Garry art Argos says he still has dimension details of Derek’s frame which I saw in person several times when racing….

Crikey O'Reilly. You've certainly made a rod for your own back there.
