How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

Hi, I recently bought some bike parts and these were amongst them, are they of any worth? Cheers

Steve

the rusty steel pedals are Union model Nr. K10491/U41

as produced by the Union Frondenberg firm of Germany

their monetary value is nil but if they turn and the spindles are straight they have a modest utility value

Union pedal nr. K10491 : U41.webp

the Sakae Ringyo cotterless chainset is the bottom of the range with its permanently swaged on steel chainwheel and "melt forged" (cast) alloy crank arms

best item by far is the Mikashima alloy pedal set; it is the model Sylvan and could bring a tenner at a jumble sale or gumtree listing

purchasing used parts blind is not a wise couse

Thanks for the feedback, fortunately it was a bunch of mountain bike stuff I was after and this made up about 5% of it, wasn't sure whether to keep it or throw it out. The pedals at £10 would be a small bonus, probably stick the rest on ebay with a starting bid of £5.

the Mikashima Sylvan pedal is a well regarded and popular component

if you place them up for sale as a separate item they will disappear quickly

Let's start with an apology..... I hate posts that start with "My mate has......", so I'm sorry......

My mate has a 1985 Roberts that he's been working with for a while now & whilst he's made fabulous progress, he's lost interest as he realises he'll never ride it & has therefore decided it needs to be loved in a suitable new home.

It's a 19" frame & has been professionally refinished to excellent standard by Colour-Tech in Dartford. Arguably one of the best, but let's not argue.
He's believes there's a full bike, but it's in bits.
Campy bearings, brakes, post, hubs, mavic rims (1 brand new), new tyres, Shimano 600 crankset & Cinelli bars - it's all at least decent stuff.

I've seen similar frames go for £250, but what's the "kit form" bike worth?
It will build into a beautiful little bike that desperately needs to see the sunshine occasionally, however it does need some work to get it there - admittedly only a bit of cleaning, polishing & assembly, but as we all know that's where the time is once you have all the bits.

Single pic to generate curiosity, but there's more in the following link....

Hi there, this beautiful bike was built for me in 1986 and I am looking to sell it. I would be grateful for advice on what price to put on it. There is a huge difference on eBay and I'm not sure what to put as a starting price and would appreciate any advice. Thank you very much

Gorgeous, custom build, Chas Roberts bike.

Hand built, superlight, steel frame.

Built for me (5'6") in 1986.

Columbus SLX super butted tube set that was specially designed for professional cyclists. - not me but I saw a similar bike and it was so beautiful I had to have one. Double butted tube ends.

A few scratches to the frame to be expected with age of bike.

14 gear, Shimano Sante derailleur

Fillet brazed Roberts will command interest, although there is a flood of nice rimbraked bikes for sale atm.

I would try an ebay auction, set the reserve at the least you'd let it go for, and if it doesn't sell, at least you've got an objective valuation on the strength of the market.

Spring is always the best time to sell.

Thank you very much. Is it better to describe as fillet brazed or lugless? Thanks again
