Aside from the bottle boss issue the frame doesn’t look to be in great shape cosmetically so it would be hard to find a buyer for it with its current issues. It’s not really worth the cost of a respray. Do you have the Burrows aero seatpost? That’s worth something. And the Record groupset will likely clean up nicely so will almost certainly get you more return (as a complete groupset or in bits if you can be bothered).Hi all, I’ve just taken this in on behalf of a friend to see if it’s of interest to restore and sell on. It’s sat for 20yrs. It was his late dad’s bike.
Giant TCR Once with Campag Record group set and campag Nucleon wheelset. Everything actually functions pretty smoothly. Sadly the down tube has lost its rivet bottle mount. Condition of frame is average at best.
He wants to sell it, any money raised goes to local community council fund raising activities. I said I’d strip and restore it FOC to suppprt.
I’m not sure what it’s worth if I fully rebuilt it and put some fresh cables / bar tape on? Given the damaged rivet too? Any guiding suggestions?
I did wonder just to strip the groupset and wheels sell separately to raise money for the community.
Cheers
James

Much appreciated and lots of good advice there. Just what I needed. Think I’ll just strip it, clean everything up and advertise then. I have the very same frame in near perfect condition but still stripped it of the Chorus 10-speed groupset as the complete bike wouldn’t have been worth more than the groupset alone. They’re cool bikes but a bit niche and not valuable in rarity or collectibility even when mint.
If you're in no hurry, someone might come along happy to pay the £1000 it ought to be worth.I have a Vic Edwards built 1973 Condor Italia in with (I think) original purple metallic paint with waterslide decals, full period correct Campagnolo Record group (headset, rear mech, shifters, brakes, levers, BB cranks, pedals) with heavily drilled Record seatpost and high flange hubs on Milremo sprint rims, Cinelli bar, stem and saddle. It has a single ring at the front. It will be complete and restored in a minimal impact way - I have kept everything it came with but a buyer may wish to replace the pads, toe straps, bars etc to make a more useable bike. 55cms square frame.
I have a fair idea of value but realistically what is it worth in this market? I'm in no particular rush to sell, I won't split it for parts. TIA.
Paint is great, the water slide transfers are not great on one side, but as over the paint then I suspect easy to fix, and I wouldn't want that much anyway. If you're in no hurry, someone might come along happy to pay the £1000 it ought to be worth.
If the paint condition is very good.
