How do I mount my brakes?

toomanycars

Devout Dirtbag
Just went out to fit the rear brakes on the pace, but...... there is no back plate with the holes in for me to fit my brakes, (the hole that the spring goes into) Am I just being daft or am I missing something?

Use the sort that dont need the spring guides, Dia-Compe etc.

Oh, I had some old XT ones I was going to use,

Could you share a link, everything I have looked at has a spring?

You adjust the tension via the thingamajig on the umblybub using a spanner and an allen key

Got some washers and stick a home in OR get the proper ones.

Don't compromise with crap brakes.

Proper what though, I would have thought they were attached to the frame

Re:

I'm not with them at the moment but should be able to sort some pics later on today for you, If not tomorrow morning.

They're Anodised titanium finish and as new iirc, even include the original Dia compe pads and cable hangers which have been polished to a mirror finish. Very fine example if that's the sort of thing you're looking for :D

In the meantime if you google the details it'll give you an idea of what they're like, They were the top model available at the time (Early/Mid 90's), Light with plenty of power, Nice brakes!

Re:

They sit under the boss, I have some in a bag for my F3.
Good chance Maguras or 987 may have been fitted if they are not on there.

Sit if pace have anythin g in their retro pages.
