anyone else like em ?? i love em !!!!!!

i'm not talking about those shiney modern things with A/C, plush leather interiors and billet wheels, im on about the (often) tatty, stripped down, back to basics rods

i put one together last year (inbetween jobs at work) in an effort to fight off the boredom, it was about as basic as a car can get and still move under its own steam

so, am i alone on this one ?? :D

You mean instead of paying the money for NOS model A parts , your paying the money for NOS model A parts and then making them rust so they look neglected

I think it's funny when people spend more time and effort making something look shonky than it does to make it look nice .

And "they" don't like it when you mention their Rodline shell , Socal speedshop rails and crate small block are nothing more than a kit car

 no, they dont like that much at all do they

i didnt fall into the nos trap, i made the chassis, most of the suspension links and used s/h everything else - i was a real scrap yard dog :D

i agree - a useless thread without pics but photobucket is having a spaz tonight and it wont play :(

I remember going to a hot rod show when i was about 6. Field full of ford pops with red suspension, chrome engines and yellow bodies. The 6 year old me liked it. Fast forward 15 years and i saw my first ever rat rod at classic ford. Blew me away. I love rods as long as they are rough

From the man who lives in Essex  Just poke a camera out of the window , I'm sure there is plenty of interesting stuff sat on driveways in your street .

If I ever got a garage I would probably cobble together a T , It's hard to get the proportions right though , lots of weird ones out there  Look good with a channel ( this one seems to have a Z ) and full height roof .

Wrong part of Essex for that.. most interesting thing sat on a drive within view is my 4x4.

Those pics are my kind of cars

Wife likes them too so if I ever had the opportunity (and ability) to buy/make one she wouldn't object in the slightest.
Even if it meant selling a kidney or one of the children.

Love this

Fancied a sit up and beg Pop for a while until i stuck my head through the drivers window of one at a show and seen how tiny they were inside  though owning a 68 Charger at the time did'nt help, everything seemed tiny

There was a Gasser Pop about a few years ago with a Hillbourne injected Olds motor, that was friggin awesome, will try and find a pic :)
