Hope pistons

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone here can shed some light on my request.

I have found out that the magnets in these are interference magnets, that are pressed I believe into the piston itself.

Does anyone know..

The type of metal the piston is?
Am I right on the magnet being an interference type?

Have emailed Hope and they can only tell me the calliper is 2014 T6 aluminium.

I need to get some new magnets in the piston but companies need to know the below,

Full dimensions (inc. housing as it looks to have some sort of casing)
Material of the magnet and the casing/housing
Grade of magnetic material
Magnetisation direction (through the thickness or on curved sides)

Found out these are an interference fitting.

However need to know the material type of the pistons.

Anyone here aware of this or know a good route to find out?

Self adhesive magnetic sheet (fridge magnets) in various thicknesses & pre cut discs are freely available online.

Have you considered trying to remagnetise the piston magnets with another magnet?
Alternatively, Hope may still sell replacement pistons ?
