Probably the most cracked hub shown on RB, but has anyone been running them consistently without problem? I'm about to build a new set of wheels and have a pair of Hopes, I'm a bit reticent to build them only for them the crack! Is it age related or would you say yours had/have an active life. Looking for success stories and if yours failed was it abuse or suchlike?

Again, no issues with the one I've been running for ages now.
I've got one of the first suspension hubs and has had a hard life since i bought it when it first came out.
36 hole, clear silver and ti finish, been used for dh, jumping, xc and all day riding.
No cracks or signs of failing and have gone through numerous rims on it

My 10 year old Giant XtC950 came with Hope hubs laced to mavic rims and I've had a decade off trouble free use out of then.

Bought a poorly listed wheelset of Hope hubs with unmentioned Union/Marwi Ti spokes for a reasonable sum but they showed up with an unmentioned cracked flange on the front hub. Not quite the score I was hoping for but I'm a patient man and can wait for the right hub. Advertised as 'ultralight' and 'low miles'.
Hate to 'threadjack' but if anyone can tell me the proper name of the front hub listed in this completed auction I would appreciate it (although not as much as I'd appreciate that front hub in black if somebody has one they aren't using or would sell for top dollar)

I may just build the wheels up with a set of Mono's I have. Mono's didn't have the pressed on flange that seems to crack. The front spokes might be a tad too long though. I don't build wheels (but am willing to try) so any advice is appreciated.
FWIW I think it IS a problem - even if some have used them without issue. I'd consider selling them and buying something without the issues. OTOH they are sweet hubs and if you don't make money or at least break even on the deal then build them and ride them.
