Hope Hub help

I'm finally getting round to rebuilding my tip rescue 94 Marin Team Issue which I've had for 18months. The wheels are in great condition to look at and after some judicious use of a heat gun I have freed the disc bolts which were seized in.

I've never worked on Hope hubs before so am a bit nervous of doing any damage. The main problem seems to be that there is no spin in either hub and the freehub also does not spin. I don't want to force any movement until I have some idea of what I'm doing.

Are the rear hubs in particular a job for a Hope novice?

I will be doing a search for relevant articles/docs, but can anyone help identify these hubs so I know I'm looking for the right documents.

I also have the same period Hope disc brakes and will be looking for help on those shortly.

any chance on any advice with my dilemma as i see you have have the same type of locking ring as i am trying to locate the image will explain more will add image asap, p.s i t is split due to excessive force from aggressive force ty for help or advice in advance.

Are you saying that the locking ring is split at the arrows in the diagram?

If so I would imagine you're going to need a new lockring - either put an ad in the wanted forum or contact Hope direct.

Put something in the wanted secition, look on eBay or get someone to knock one up on a lathe.
