Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Re:

It's not so much the etiquette.. I'd just like you to get your questions answered :)

Roadking probably knows more about Roberts than anyone else on this forum, but I think I'm correct in saying that he has never once contributed to any of Dave's three massive Holdsworth frame number threads, of which this is one.

Word is (I think) that Geoff (or is it Chas?) Roberts fields out finishing to Colourtech these days anyway. It's equally possible that he has a hand in the frame repair side of their business, but I don't know..

+1 for you starting a new thread on these Kman.

Probably like more than a few others I doubt I could be of much help but would be very interested to learn about them as well. These forums are a wealth of knowledge that is freely given by those that give it which is a wonderful thing in its own right, but its not always those directly involved in the thread that benefit from that knowledge.

Re:

Cheers guys. I’ve setup a thread for the GB, so will do similar with the others, once I get a minute. I’ll soon have a posting score high enough for a signature, so can then set the links up to!

Re:

Hi can you add frame number 8924, cyclone deluxe

It came with a modern style headbadge with the holes drilled off centre, which leads me to think that it never had the cyclone deluxe badge, but i'm not sure?
It has the high level plate type mudguard brackets
Thanks

Steve s,

Perhaps your frame has been passed on to several owners? Possibly rare original destroyed or sold off as I would think badge itself would demand a significant sum. Seems the Cyclone deluxe with name across top had a spacing similar to later common badge - don't know for sure.

I have a c.1951 Sirocco #13006 that also came with the later badge, but on restoring and removing noticed there were two other shorter spaced holes where the original shorter old style Sirocco badge (without model name) must have been placed. I instead opted for using an older style aluminum badge reproduced by HLloyds and seen on lesser similar vintage frames before more modern one appeared c.1953. It has same spacing as modern badge that was on it. An original Sirocco badge is probably impossible to find as would a Cyclone Deluxe.

Some pics would be good.

Doug

Mine just has the one set of holes, and as I said earlier drilled off centre.

I looked around for the correct badge for a while, then got some transfers made. They are near enough for me.
I could not work out if the light blue or dark blue top to the badge was earlier or later.. if anyone got any ideas please share, as I got both colours made.

I've got a few pics that I'll post later
Cheers

Looking at the stripped head tube of my Sirocco you can see that the original shorter spaced badge would also have been off centre. Guess Holdsworth factory badge person wasn't that fussy.

Thanks, that's nice to know the holes could well be original.. does anyone know what the spacing was on the cyclone deluxe badge.? My last cyclone deluxe with a badge was sold in the early 70s
Cheers Steve
