Update of the numbering with additional numbers and a number of frames coming up with sale dates bringing some more clarity. Charts will be updated again as and when further good dates come to light.

Dave,

Some excellent work and it seems to me that the analysis is now at the point where there is a consistenancy of data across the timeline of production. I mean that taking a high level view the data points of blocks of serial numbers fit the annual periods better, thanks again,

Thanks, yes so.e key date helped improve things. Very few good reliable dates, some key ones help a lot.

Hoping I might be able to get some more information on this Holdsworth which I have inherited from my granddad.



Based on the data provided on the graphs shown on this thread, the serial number on the steerer tube seems to place it around 1951 / 52? There is no serial number on the BB, but I haven't checked the inside of the rear dropout yet.



It has an interesting seat stay, which, having looked online, I can't find which model it is. Any ideas?



It's had a pretty poor paintjob, seeming to mimic the 1966 mistral I saw on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=381004&start=10.

The top tube is quite badly pitted and has several small dents. I'm hoping this doesn't mean the frame isn't safe to ride as I do intend to take it out occasionally.
