History of early ATBs - Who innovated and who copied who.

Re:

whoa, that's the most interesting thread i've read on fb in a long time...starts slow with people just ranting and arguing but gets interesting when some of the builders and mechanics who were actually there weigh in.

Exactly. It's funny when it does happen. People forget they can make potentially libellous comments about an individual or organisation even many years ago just by stating here-say or urban legend throw away remarks. Educational thread nonetheless which gives an insight into the early days of bike design.

I'm not into fb. Any chance some one could copy and paste the content into here?

Not really sure you can (easily) copy FB stuff liek that...but breif synopsis:
-Dude rants that speciased are evil and have no place in the histry of mtb as all they did was grab a ritchey frame and photocopy it into production
-many here, here's
-some what are you on's
- some who cares
-other dud rocks up and says I'm the guy that did all that and we didn'[t compy a ritchey, we coped my own mtb from my company so stick it
-op dude says i'm not sure thats true, theres a story CK said they bought a dodgey made ritchey
-CK rocks up and says whatevers dude.

at least i think thats what was going on, old fb can be kinda hard to follow at times after the fact, but it was something like that. someone can clear up the facts
