Does anyone know who currently manufacturers a high-end 26” V-Brake rim in Silver?

In no particular order of importance, this is what I am referring to:
26” with V-brake surface
Silver
Welded join (not pinned)
Spoke Eyelets
22mm-ish width
425g-ish weight

It would appear that the superb Mavic 717 are only made in black now!

When I did a search, DT Swiss and Stan Notubes no longer list any 26” V-brake rims on their websites whatsoever!

The only other manufacturer that I can find that lists a V-brake welded rim that is lightweight with eyelets, is Sun Ringle - the EQ21L, which sadly is black.

The Mavic 317 is a nice rim and is still made in silver, but it is pinned at the join. I am hoping that a silver welded rim that includes all the above criteria is still currently made.

I have a pair of the aforementioned XC717s in silver if you are interested? 36 hole.

They do sometimes come up on eBay but not often.

PM me if you want any more info.

Re:

Gentlemen, the question that I am asking is who currently makes such a rim.

On the Mavic web site the EX721 appears to only be available in Disc (and black).

The offer of the silver 36 hole XC717 is very kind, but I just bought a new pair of XC717 in Silver from Germany. As these also no longer appear on the Mavic web site, they could be considered now as NOS.

My question on here is, “Does anyone know who currently manufacturers a high-end 26” V-Brake rim in Silver?”

Ah, good question.
Mavic still make a v-brake rim and I'm sure DT swiss do, but silver!, I haven't seen a silver rim for a while. Black or black is pretty much the choice nowadays

Maybe these guys? Website is a little annoying. Can't be 100% sure they do v brake but think so from the profile pictures.

Yeah cheers. I have built wheels using Velocity Rims – both the current Aeroheat and the Velocity Synergy, which are no longer on their web site.

Both were pretty poor really - neither version had spoke nipple eyelets, and both were pinned, not welded. The brake surface of the Aeroheat was made of cheese, and wore down in no time.

The Velocity Synergy were built into Disc rims for my (decommissioned) Rock Lobster, but the brake surface is the same quality – blimey you can even see the join in the poor-ish photo below.

This is my point here – the XC717 V-brake Rim is / was bomb proof with an amazing strong braking surface.

Re:

Cheers LGF – shipping from the States is something that I would prefer to avoid for buying some rims.

Mkone & Ghosty: If you refer to my original post…. the 317 is nice, but it is pinned not welded. The surface is also not as long lasting as the 717, which is why they are half the price.

Again with reference to my original post, I have searched both the DT Swiss and Stan Notubes site, and can no longer see V-brake rims.

Perhaps my point would be better put like this ; if I go to my LBS and order a high-end Silver Welded rim, what are available, and where could they order them from?
