Hi and Panaracer help

Good evening all,

Recently joined the forum as decided to fix up my '98 Stumpjumper M2 and this looked like a great place for info and parts.

I bought some Panaracer Fire XC Pro Kevlars and when I unwrapped them was surprised that they held their shape. Does the word kevlar not relate to the bead on these tyres? Or haved I been duped?!

They should fold, I agree with you.

There are Fire XC in rigid / steel bead, check the Panaracer site if they are also Pro steel. They could be some odd OEM thing too. But if they are kevlar, they will fold. :?

Thanks for response hamster, helps confirm that I still have some sanity.

The tyres were supplied with original (if not a little old) looking Panaracer tags that say 'bead type: Aramid' any idea what this is?!

Was hoping I'd found some cheap, light, decent skinnies but maybe not!
