Good lord! ...its not that hard! ... I have about 10 of them straight and not straight. All with these shims. Even with the swiss cheese shim!
1.) Remove the shim from your stem, ...now!!!
2.) Slide it on to your bars (carefully!) open the shim a little while sliding over the angled corner part of the bars. Use thin masking tape. That helps to prevent scratches in the anodization of the bars.
3.) Use coins-method on the stem.
4.) Carefully slide your bars + shim into the clamp of the stem.
5.) Remove coins and fasten the clamp
6.) Go watch Graham Norton ...
